Anakbayan New Jersey, local chapter of Anakbayan USA, is gathering stories and insight from Filipin@ youth in New York/ New Jersey about their experiences in trying to attain formal education.

Anakbayan-USA considers education to be a human right that should be free and available to all. It is a government’s responsibility to educate its youth. However, as of 2014, over 40 million people in the US hold student debt that amounts to $1.2 trillion. Due to the cuts in government funding for public education, more students are forced to take loans to be able to pay for their education.
